The customer inserts his/her ATM card into the designated card reader slot of the machine. The card should face the right way when inserting it into the machine. The ATM then pulls the card inside the machine to read the magnetic stripe to identify the user. The card will only be valid if the magnetic stripe can read the users' card and if invalid the card is ejected and the session is then aborted.
